Director, Patents and TechnologiesJoe Jurich has over 15 years of experience in Intellectual Asset Management. Prior to joining IP Advantages, Mr. Jurich provided consulting services to the IP Business of Chevron for 3 years and held IP Senior Management positions at Alcatel Lucent (Prior Lucent Technologies) IP Business unit for 12 years. Mr. Jurich has successfully lead and closed multi-million dollar Intellectual Property deals generating hundreds of millions of dollars in licensing revenues.
As the Intellectual Property Technical Intelligence Manager at Chevron Corporation, Mr. Jurich developed highly detailed energy industry patent landscape analyses. Mr. Jurich developed both a centralized Global IP awareness website and SharePoint supporting the distributed network of
Chevron IP Managers and IP Coordinators. Mr. Jurich supported Chevron’s Global IP Manager.
At Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. Jurich licensed Bell Laboratories innovations to Fortune 500 companies in Asia, Europe and the United States. As a negotiation team leader, Mr. Jurich managed a team of Patent Managers, Patent Assertion and Licensing Attorneys for up to fourteen active negotiations. As a Licensing and Business Development Senior Manager at Lucent Technologies, he created and developed hundreds of new licensing opportunities in high-tech market verticals including e-Commerce, semiconductor, superconductivity and various communications technologies. His experience also includes Intellectual Property valuation, competitive analysis and licensing strategy.
Mr. Jurich is an active member of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), has been a long time member of the Licensing Executive
Society (LES) and has lectured on Competitive Technical Intelligence.
He holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, with a minor in Math from High Point University.
